WEEK 11

 Creative Thinking: SCAMPER.
Through this group activity, I've learnt to use the SCAMPER thinking technique better and to apply it in designing, the before thought process and the after thought process. SCAMPER makes it easier for anyone to showcase their design concepts clearly to any target audience and allows designers to easily create a concept for innovation.

In this group project, I was in charge of the "P" in SCAMPER to evaluate the current product in other processes and purposes or how to use existing products to solve problems. For instance, the nail polish my group is doing is able to remove your polish and put on your polish at the same time. We decided to come up with this idea through evaluating other brands of nail polishes. We came up with the "stick it " function to put into other uses such as a phone stand. This was, through applying the "put into other uses" thought process, no only can we create a superior product, we can create a series of different product with different range to target different audience to benefit everybody. This is the start of an innovation.

Group 05: Anadier, Ina, Saerom, Gus, Lay Yen.

DAY 01

Monochromatic landscapes.

DAY 02
Tried to capture my Brother's eye.

DAY 03

Jellyfishes taken at the S.E.A Aquarium today. Really love jellyfishes and the scientific knowledge of how the jellyfish's brain can somehow cure cancer if we manage to look deeper to the neutron and bla bla bla.

DAY 04

Spotted this bunch of pretty flowers near Fullerton.

DAY 05

NAFA fun day.

DAY 06

Went to the Gardens by the bay to have a walk. Took a lot of pictures as usual and decided to play around with some. Quite like the effect of shattered glass windows this particular one has.

DAY 07

Taken at the library at Orchard Central. Love how the shelves can be wavy too. Something different.

WEEK 10: FORCE CONNECTION.

DAY 01

These clouds reminds me of the sky in almost every animated movie.

DAY 02

This intriguing statue used to be a lighthouse in the 1900s. These are the smaller versions and there are usually more than one placed. I kinda think that lighthouse architectural style is very unique and fun to work with.

DAY 03

Wooden stairs, nothing special. What if I made it into a plastic stairs? Or Metal stairs?

DAY 04

Black and white photography of the sands shopping mall.

DAY 05
Visited the Gardens by the bay cloud dome. Really love how the whole place is so cold. Plus I feel like this particular waterfall is a great structure to learn from in terms of architecture.

DAY 06

Saturday napping up with the cats.

DAY 07

Sunday Park Day. The park always somehow make me feel so positive! Really enjoy walking fro one end of the Botanical Gardens to the other.

FORCE CONNECTION

How does one connect feeling to an object to create a design?

To try connecting feelings to an object to create a design, I decided to do a mini mind-map of what I think of or visualise when I see this words: Passionate, Sad, Brave, Creative, Greedy, Hardworking.

In the end I think that you can separate the idea of these words into two form, realistic and surrealistic. For instance, a realistic form of greedy pencil is just a big pencil with huge leads for those greedy of lead. A surrealistic greedy pencil is a pencil that can show the balance of your bank account as long as the pencil sense your touch-id, now wouldn't this pencil be perfect for the greedy people who only thinks about money? However we know that the idea of having a person that shows your bank account with touch-id installed is very far fetch but what if we try to simplify these ideas together? How about a pencil simply made of real money for the greedy? Or a pencil collection made to target the rich that showcase pencils made up of gold?

Hence to sum it all up, force connection to me is like adding the surrealistic ideas with the realistic ideas to create something new, something original, something that can be called an innovation.

WEEK 09: FORCE CONNECTION.

WEEK 09 - FORCE CONNECTION

Review(BBC)-
Intelligence seemed to be more similar to type one or type two questions, they had answers that were definite, and answers that were insights. The analogy used in the video, the curvy roads as opposed to the fast highways, was a well-fitting analogy to allow you to see the differences better. The idea that the limits of our world cause our minds to get trapped in a rut and that changing even small things, can increase our creativity, intrigues me.

Review(TED)- Positive psychological. To make use of happy and to be happy, we can reverse the formula. If we can find a way of becoming positive in the present, our brains will work much more successfully because we are more intelligent, hard working, motivated and faster when we are positive. An example to make yourself embrace positivity is to start a journal about one positive experience you have in a day. By writing this journal daily, you are wiring your brain to think more optimistic, more positively. This way your brain starts to work much faster and more efficiently. By doing this,we can reverse the formula for happiness and success, and in doing so, not only creating ripples of positivity, but a real revolution.

DAY 01

The fire effect created by the wind blowing look so realistic and animated. Wonder if I can make use of the same effect to create a fiery summer fashion collection?

DAY 02

This art piece makes me feel that the artist wanted to convey the meaning of restrictions and seeking hope.

DAY 03

Black and white photography for a change.

DAY 04

To be able to see the ships from a far in this large binoculars makes me feel like escaping my position behind this stand to the ships I see in it. Whats life like being on a cargo ship?

DAY 05

The Esplanade. Simple and sophisticated architecture brings admirers from across the globe. Below: Inspired by some logo design.

DAY 06

Her eyes looks like she is looking at a bright future, even though its just a statue make of bronze.

Taken at the National Gallery of Singapore.

DAY 07
Can you spot the Merlion from this view?

WEEK 08

DAY 01

Even though its such a simple design, it brings a sophisticated and homely feel to the whole area.
I think that because the paper walls together with the lights creates a ambiance because the brightness of the lights are constricted by the walls.

DAY 02

Saw this art piece at the Singapore Art Museum. Love it because you can tell that cupid has played a role in this couple's romance even though the women seems a bit unwilling. Or it could basically mean that love is such a joke, a game for the mindless.

DAY 03

As I look outside at the NAFA campus level 6. Sadly even though you can see the Mercure hotel from this picture, I have always enjoyed looking at their swimming pool to see if anyone was swimming. Sometimes you can really spot a figure swimming.

DAY 04

Saw this very interesting chair at the Kallang mall. Really love the way it forms an alphabet. They had like K,A,L... but I think the W is the one that seats the most people (~5)  haha.

DAY 05

Why can't I suddenly teleport to Hogwarts? I'm pretty sure I'm destine to be a great wizard. I mean the internet tells me so!

DAY 06

Me, because assignment week is coming.

Taken at the National Gallery of Singapore.

DAY 07

I'm seriously wishing for the bridge to illuminate right now.
